1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using DeskMate, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use DeskMate. You must be 18 years or older to create an account.

2. What DeskMate Is

DeskMate is an AI-powered tool that helps teachers, tutors, and homeschool parents generate educational materials including progress reports, lesson plans, substitute teacher plans, and homeschool curriculums. All content is generated by AI and is intended as a starting point — you are responsible for reviewing and editing all generated content before using it.

3. Your Account

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity that occurs under your account. You may not share your account with others. Each user must have their own account.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to:

•Enter full student names, student ID numbers, or other personally identifiable student information

•Use DeskMate to generate harmful, discriminatory, or inappropriate content

•Attempt to reverse engineer, copy, or resell DeskMate's technology

•Use DeskMate in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations

Responsible use with student information: Please use only first names or nicknames for students. Do not enter full names, dates of birth, addresses, or other identifying information.

5. AI-Generated Content

You acknowledge that AI-generated content may contain errors or inaccuracies. You are responsible for reviewing all generated content before using it with students or families. DeskMate does not guarantee the accuracy or appropriateness of any generated content.

6. Subscription and Payments

Free plan: Limited to 5 generations per month at no cost.

Paid plans: Pro ($9/month) and Family ($12/month) plans are billed monthly.

Cancellation: You may cancel at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. No refunds for partial months.

Refunds: We offer a full refund within 7 days of your first paid subscription. Contact support@joindeskmate.com.

7. Intellectual Property

The DeskMate platform, branding, and underlying technology are owned by DeskMate. Content you generate using DeskMate belongs to you.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

DeskMate is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free. Use DeskMate at your own discretion.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, DeskMate shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.

10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, United States.
